USNMC BOARD MEETING
MINUTES
SUNDAY, MAY 17, 2009
Attendance: Sharon Costello, Donna Welty, Irene O’Connor, Rita Biddle, Kendail Gonzales ( had to be excused early due to driving back from show), Jennifer Groves, Shani Stewart-Robbins, Nydia Thornton, Cathy DeLuca
Absent: Ingrid Fortunato, Nikki Stamper
Meeting called to order at 9:08 PM EST
Motion made by Jennifer Groves to accept minutes from April 19, 2009 as printed. Motion seconded by Cathy De Luca. Motion carried.
President’s Message:
President Costello welcomed all to tonight’s meeting. Mrs. Costello acknowledged the work of the secretary in reference to the bylaw mailings (3 of them) and the presentation of the candidates and balloting procedure for the 2009 Election. Mrs. Costello voiced her gratitude to Mr. Brian King for all his work on the bylaw revisions and noted that he personally had contacted Ms. Wolfe over her concerns regarding them. Mr. Sergey Takser had contacted her via phone call in reference to his membership status and the length of time it was taking. The process was explained to him. (Note the second reading of his name and application is on tonight’s agenda)
Secretary’s Report:
Correspondence sent: Bylaw revision and ballots ( 3 x’s ); Legislative concerns, breed request information. Correspondence received: from AKC the following: 1) notification from Events on former scheduled shows, 2) AKC Meet the Breeds in NY on Oct. 17 & 18, 2009, 3) Updating of election results form, 4) information and medallion pledge form for Eukanuba National Championship to be held on Dec. 12 & 13, 2009 in CA, 5) information on legislative link on AKC website; from International Kennel Club of Chicago notification and invite to join their show set for February 2010; Revised Proposal for 2010 USNMC Nationals in Southern California from Dr. Pierluigi Scalia.
